Adjudicator: Annabel Knight  MMus (RCM), Dip RCM, GRSM (Hons)

Annabel studied recorder and flute at the Royal College of Music in London, winning the postgraduate prize for early music research. She has since become one of the UK’s most respected recorder players and chamber music artists and has performed for early music festivals and radio networks across Europe and America, including features on BBC Radio 3's Early Music Show and Music Restored. She has given recitals at the Wigmore Hall and South Bank with the baroque ensemble Passacaglia, with whom she has also made several CD recordings, and also performs regularly with the recorder quintet Fontanella. Annabel has a passion for improving the provision and quality of recorder teaching in the UK and is the founder and director of the popular Woodhouse Recorder Week summer school for young recorder players. As well as her work at the Birmingham Conservatoire, she also teaches at James Allen’s Girls’ School in Dulwich, the Centre for Young Musicians in London and for Surrey County Arts.
