  • Entries and enquiries to the Speech & Drama Secretary.

  • All verse speaking to be performed from memory.

  • Apart from in Mime classes, costumes, hand props and music may be used if required. Chairs and tables (and stage blocks at the Pump House) are provided.

  • A competitor may enter more than once in Duologue and Group classes as specified in Regulation 6.

  • Performances must not cause offence to members of the Festival audience (Regulation 7).

  • All verse speaking must be performed from memory - no script reading.

DRAMA SECTION

Apart from in the Mime Classes, costumes, hand props and music may be used if required.  Chairs and tables (also stage blocks at the Pump House) are provided. A competitor may enter more than once in Duologue and Group Classes as specified in Regulation 6 (see back page).  Performances must not cause offence to members of the audience (see Regulation 7).   All Drama pieces must be performed from memory - NO SCRIPT READING. N.B. No extra marks will be awarded for costumes.

Competitors to prepare a mime on any topic or theme. One stage block or one chair can be used if essential. No sounds to be uttered. No music, costumes or hand props. A title may be announced, but no introduction or verbal explanation given.
