| Adjudicator: | Kate Elmitt ARAM |
Kate Elmitt studied at The R.A.M. from the age of 12 and broadcast on B.B.C.’s Children's Hour. At 14 she gained the Performer's L.R.A.M. and whilst studying with Madeleine Windsor and then Harold Craxton went on to win the Henderson Scholarship and numerous prizes.
At 20, the Tobias Matthay Fellowship enabled her to study briefly with Michelangeli in Arezzo where she was selected to play on Italian Radio, and for 3 years with Bruno Seidlhofer in Vienna where she passed the final examination with the highest mark possible, and became known as a radio and T.V. artist.
Since her return to this country, in addition to teaching and adjudication commitments, Kate has been performing as 2/3 of the Elmitt/Railton Duo on T.V., Radio, all over England, the Far East and Australia, and as soloist with orchestra, recitalist, lecture—recitalist, accompanist, and as a member of many chamber music ensembles.
