Guidelines
- The piece can be for a solo instrument up to an ensemble of 10 players. The composer does not need to be involved in the performance but they are welcome to perform or conduct if they wish. It is the responsibility of the composer to organise and arrange the performers.
- A recording of the piece is acceptable (on CD only) and can be played during the class in lieu of a live performance. Please state on the entry form whether your composition will be performed live or by recording.
- The composer should introduce their piece briefly to the audience and perhaps explain anything about the concept behind their work.
- Each candidate can submit up to two separate entries in a class. If a candidate submits two separate compositions in one class this will attract two entry fees.
- A score of the work should be submitted - graphic scores and conventionally notated works are permissable.
- The composition should not exceed the stated timings, which is the time allowed for each entry.
